The Department of World Languages and Cultures sponsors:
Two competitive scholarships for students studying abroad during the spring 2025 semester. Each scholarship is worth $1,000. The deadline for submission for these scholarships is December 10, 2024.
Five competitive scholarships for students studying abroad in summer 2024. Each scholarship is worth $250. The deadline for these scholarships is May 15, 2025.
Eligible languages to be studied while abroad:
- Italian
- French
- Spanish
Eligibility: Undergraduate Salem State University students who are enrolled in a spring 2025 or summer 2024 study abroad program in one of the listed languages. Preference given to majors and minors in the Department of World Languages and Cultures.
How to apply: Submit a photocopy of your study about application and a personal statement reflecting on the following questions: What initially inspired me to learn this language or study abroad in this country? How does my study abroad program relate to my future professional, academic, and/or personal goals?
Your personal statement may be submitted as either a 500-word essay or a three-minute video.
