Meet Your Major I 11 am-1 pm

Mandatory event for all first-year and new transfer students

First-year and new transfer students will meet with their academic department as part of the annual Meet Your Major event.

Ask a PT I 5-7 pm

Campus Life and Recreation and the Gassett Fitness 麻豆成人精品 partner with a local physical therapist every month to offer you free advice! Stop by at the time most convenient for you between 5-7 pm. No need to pre-register.

Masterclass with Laila Franklin I 12:25-1:30 pm

Laila J. Franklin is a multidisciplinary dance artist based in Boston, MA. Her work is interested in meta-commentary, deconstruction, and bits, approaching themes surrounding the human experience with complexity, nuance, curiosity, and humor. She has been commissioned by Brown University and Boston Conservatory at Berklee, and presented through Public Space One, Loculus Collective鈥檚 Sideways Door Festival, School of Contemporary Dance and Thought, and Movement Research at The Judson Church. Her performance credits include projects with Miguel Gutierrez, Stephanie Miracle, and Melinda Jean Myers. She was recently featured as one of Dance Magazine鈥檚 鈥25 to Watch鈥 of 2024. Laila holds an MFA from the University of Iowa, a BFA from The Boston Conservatory, and is a proud alumna of Duke Ellington School of the Arts.

Unlock the Art of Storytelling: A Workshop on Images and Words I 10:50 am-12:05 pm

The Department of World Languages and Cultures is thrilled to announce that Dirk I. Tiede鈥攔enowned artist, illustrator, animated short film creator, and educator鈥攚ill be the guest speaker and workshop leader for our ITL 380 course on "Italian Graphic Novels." Tiede鈥檚 presentation and workshop, titled "How to Create a Story with Images and Words," will be conducted in English. SSU students are encouraged to participate

Constitution Day: What's at Stake: Election 2024 I 12:15-1:30 pm

Celebrate Constitution Day by joining the Berry Institute of Politics for a panel with organizers from across the Country to discuss critical issues focusing on women's rights, LGBTQ+ rights, and voting access.

On Food and Fascism I 12:30-1:30 pm

How did the politics of the fascist era (1922-1943) influence Italian culinary identity and what role did they play in the conceptual development of Italian cuisine as we know it today? This lecture will explore the tenets of Oral History and look specifically at how this method of data collection opens a unique window onto food history research. Today there is much discussion around the notion of 鈥渁uthenticity鈥 and this retrospective reveals how some of the best-loved myths of Italian food are part of an invented set of traditions. That view is balanced through a closer look at how traditions, invented or otherwise, play an important part in societal healing and cultural progression in Italy.

Service Opportunity with the Friends of the Council on Aging I 3-7:15 pm

Join the 麻豆成人精品 for Civic Engagement in going out into the community to help serve dinner at the Salem Friends of the Council on Aging Pasta Dinner. We will be meeting outside the Dunkin' inside Meier Hall on North Campus. Dinner and transportation will be provided.

Craft Night I 6-8 pm

We are partnering with Hammer & Stain North Shore to bring craft night to you! Participants will have their choice of designs to decorate their living space. Register today to choose your design.

Lunch and Learn: How to Start a Business I 12-1:30 pm

Are you looking to start a business but don't know where to begin? This workshop, hosted by the Small Business Development 麻豆成人精品's Senior Business Advisor, Awilda Irrizary, will focus on business fundamentals, from start-up considerations to business plan development including marketing strategies and funding sources.



Free lunch will be provided for all attendees!

We are hosting a Spinning庐 certification on our campus! This comprehensive, blended-learning course will give you all the hands-on tools you need to become a certified Spinning庐 instructor and lead your own classes. The fee to attend is $355.00 and space is limited.
