Entitled Thinking about Black Francophone Women [Penser le sujet femme noire francophone], this issue focuses on Black women theorists, writers, and intellectuals in different geographical areas (Africa, Europe, and the Americas). Â鶹³ÉÈ˾«Æ· Rocca argues that Yabouza’s novel criticizes bourgeois feminism in the name of a popular feminism. The female narrator summons to her court not only local leaders and neighboring nations, but also the old and new colonial powers, including the United States, Russia, and China. The novel is a story of injuries and violence committed on women’s bodies that opens a space of reflection on the human annihilation perpetrated by men.
