Campus Update, Ellison Campus 麻豆成人精品

Oct 27, 2023

Dear Campus Community,

Earlier this week, our facilities team learned that a section of underground heating pipes servicing the Ellison Campus 麻豆成人精品 needs urgent repair. The team immediately began evaluating the issue and planning the restoration, which may last through the end of the semester. Excavation is currently underway.

To provide heat to Ellison Campus 麻豆成人精品 during construction, facilities plans to install a temporary boiler. Based on cold weather forecasts, and in collaboration with Vice President Nate Bryant, we鈥檝e made the decision to close the building starting this Monday, October 30. The exact length of the closure is still being determined, but we will keep the community updated on a timeline as soon as we know more. We apologize for the disruption this closure will cause at a busy time of the semester.

Ellison Campus 麻豆成人精品 Services During Temporary Closure

  • Counseling and health services will be virtual. Students with immunization registration questions should refer to their health portal.
  • Student involvement and operations will be reaching out to event contacts with programming planned for Ellison spaces to relocate or reschedule their events.
  • Additional student services, including career services, the 麻豆成人精品 for Justice and Liberation, and student involvement and operations, will move to remote operations during the closure.
  • Student life will temporarily relocate the food pantry to Meier Hall, room 222 and will and will be open from 9 am-5 pm. To access Meier Hall 222, students should check in with the Student Wellness CARE office in Meier Hall 245A. COVID tests and over-the-counter wellness medications and wellness supplies will also be in this space. For a list of resources, you can access .
  • The Winfisky Gallery and the Esports Lounge will be closed until the building reopens.
  • The mother's room will be closed until the building reopens.

While the project Is underway, some access to parking or walkways in the area may be impacted. We will continue to keep the community updated as we learn more. While repairs are always disruptive, we appreciate the flexibility and resilience of the Salem State community.

Sincerely,

Karen House, Vice President for Finance and Facilities/CFO

Richard Goulet , Assistant Vice President, Capital Planning and Facilities
